Questions
Common questions about divorce & maintenance
How long does a mutual-consent divorce take?
After both parties file, courts observe a cooling-off period (which may be waived in deserving cases) before the second motion and decree — typically a few months when uncontested.
Who is entitled to maintenance?
A spouse unable to maintain themselves, and dependent children, may claim maintenance. The amount depends on income, standard of living and needs, as assessed by the court.
