We advise on matters under Muslim personal law — nikah and its registration, talaq and khula, mehr (dower), iddat, maintenance and inheritance under Shariat principles, applied within the framework of Indian statutes and case law.

These matters are handled with cultural sensitivity and legal rigour, whether the question is a dower claim, a maintenance dispute or the distribution of an estate.

Questions

Common questions about muslim personal law

Is mehr (dower) legally enforceable?

Yes. Mehr is a legal right of the wife and is recoverable as a debt; courts enforce its payment whether prompt or deferred.

How is inheritance distributed under Muslim law?

Distribution follows fixed shares (Faraid) among heirs as prescribed, after debts and bequests. We compute shares and assist with partition of the estate.
